If you use photobucket to host pictures, this will affect you .

Yeh, a whole shit load of work for 2Wa I reckon

Every image he needs for the forum will have to be re loaded onto another hosting site

If you are on desktop & can't read the headings , hold down the mouse left button & swipe your pointer over the headings & it will highlight them

The whole premise of PB in the early days was to be able to link back to images.
We suffered the occasional ad for the feature. PB wasn't designed to be a library where people could show off their photos like Flickr.
They've farked their own reason for being. Even paid up members can only link until 2018!

I don't have ownership rights to the forum so can't change much layout so have messaged Cam.
An option is to wind it up I guess and develop the FB page with files etc.

That'd be a real shame if that happened, I enjoy the Facebook page but it's nothing compared to this site

Hi 2WA,
I, like many others have "traded" the Bandit for a different bike.
I still enjoy this forum and I post occasionally, not like some years ago.
As I see it, changing the image from the PB speedometer to a locally stored image would overcome some of the problems.
As you say, this can only be done by the site owner but shouldn't be a big task.
I do not use any social media including facebook as I consider the risks far too great.
Regrettably, if this forum was disbanded I would just fade away which would be sad for me.
I reckon Cameron could "fix" this. Let's hope so Smile

Personally , I like the forum as a media , I have gone looking for the facebook page & found it hard to find .Would it still be a closed page as it is now , or readily open to newcomers like the forum? ( perhaps a readily recognizable name for whatever format it is to be used as for would help )Hopefully Cam can set this forum  up in a basic format without relying on third party hosts , or hand it over to someone with the know how to do it . It would be a shame to fold it up & lose all the useful information contained within from all the years of experience .Alternatively , would it be possible to start another free forum minus photobucket & " pilfer " any useful info from this forum for it ?.

A mate started a "unofficial" North Adelaide Football club fan forum site called The Roost, it costs about $100 a year to run and I'm pretty sure all the images etc are laded on to it's own web base.

I'm sure we could get more than enough $10 donations to fund a site like that each year

Mate the FB page is called Suzuki Bandits Australia so shouldn't be hard to find and anyone can read the posts and request to join if they like. Closed just means you need to be a member to post. It filters out a lot of spammers.

The images here are not just the page heading and forum icons. There's thousands in the threads that are linked to PB which will now be meaningless.

I'll be recommending to Cam we switch to a text only forum but it won't be pretty.

Just reading that article, not a bad earner for them if everyone was to pay, $40 billion per year!
I wonder what their subscriber numbers look like in a year or 2
