oils aint oils...

Post  Cheazdad on Fri 23 Jun 2017, 7:32 pm

having used Motul since Adam was a lad and Moses played for the Jerusalem rovers I decided to try something a bit different..Penrite MC4 10W40 Full Synthetic 4L, this shit is the ducks guts and the dogs balls all rolled into one, more positive gear changes with a more positive "clunk" and it just "feels" better, I can't describe it but I'm really quite pleased with it.

I must admit , after an array of oils over the years , I have settled on Ipone semi as my preferred oil , ................however with the increasing yes votes for Penrite oils from members, I will give it a go next oil change .

I've been looking at this oil for a couple of weeks, but when i saw the price,  i put it back on the shelf.
I'll just use the gas 10.

Gotta love the Gas 10. You can pretty much run it in everything. Shame you don't get a bulk discount when buying it in 20lt.
Must say that since arriving in ACT right on winter, I have a new appreciation for anti freeze and how thick even a 10W-50 oil goes when the thermometer shows -0.2C.
Even with a fully charged new battery, winding over the B12 dead cold you could hear it labour on the starter. FULL choke (enrichment) for quite a while before she warmed up.
I did some reading on what various weather conditions and altitudes does to your fueling settings. Very interesting but I'm getting off topic.
