Re: Legal at last
I HAVE THE OPTION BUT DON'T DO IT
I have observed others performing lane filtering but personally I won't attempt it unless I am in a totally congested situation
Be honest with yourself. Do you trust the majority of other road users? If you answer YES you are bloody stupid.
We have enough challenges every time we ride a motorcycle without playing Russian roulette with the retards on the road today.

Re: Legal at last
I'm in NSW and I have noticed on my daily commute that a lot more cars are now moving out of the way to let me through. There is still the occasional tool that will try and block, but as long as you are patient, you can get past them eventually.paul wrote:For over 45 years I have been breaking the law , & now this ................takes all the fun out of it really

Congratulations Paul and the rest of South Australia!
I thought QLD was the last of the Australian states to bring this in a few long months ago.
I did it once but I consider it queue jumping so have not done it since.

Re: Legal at last
I usually find a well executed queue jump with the appropriate hand gesture and the occasional " na na na na na " very rewarding with some drivers................truck wrote:Congratulations Paul and the rest of South Australia!

Re: Legal at last
Still not legal in the Northern Territory...
And there are pOlice here who actively ping riders for it. Other pOlice don't care.
Interestingly enough, most of the cops who ping are also riders. Go figure...
The good news is we're told it is coming, but it seems we're having a race with Tasmania and WA for last place.

Re: Legal at last
We're still waiting for enough cars to come over on the Spirit of Tasmania to fill up multiple lanes of traffic.....

Re: Legal at last
We were there for 2.5 weeks this time last year on the bike and enjoyed 3,500 kms of your picturesque roads in that time. Yes I agree, congestion wasn't really a problem.

Re: Legal at last
Well , despite the lack of publicity , most drivers seem to have accepted the new law , some even making way for motorcycles . With it also seems to be a bit more awareness of us on the road (........of course there are always the wanker exceptions ) , with common courtesy on the rise , & expected from both parties . There seems to be an if I indicate to change lanes ,and I am aware you are there,I expect the same courtesy given and to be let in attitude from a lot of cars , which is working and a nice change here in SA.....it seems to make the traffic flow much more smoothly .Who knows , we may even one day all be able to master the zipper lane.....I live in hope
