East Coast Ramble Empty East Coast Ramble

Post  Chalkie Mon 16 Jan 2017, 6:57 pm

Left Gus and Carol in Kenilworth after stealing a Yammie Diversion from them, down the Bruce mixing it with lunatic four wheelers. A young Asian woman cut straight across four lanes missing my front wheel by what felt like a metre. Mad breaking first followed by colourful abuse, not that she heard me.

Arrived at Cornubia and an old mate's place who was in a motorbike stunt team with me. As I don't have any mementos from that time he was able to give me some extra photos of the team. Had a great night telling lies and remembering how much better we used to be - better than reality ever was!

Today arrived at Lennox Head and staying in Hotel Canvas at the local caravan park. Another gentle 200km down the highway tomorrow.

Glad you're enjoying the new ride Chalkie, but 350km in 2 days, you are allowed to use more than a tank full of fuel every couple of days, at this rate you'll be able to hook up with mm and I in Sydney late March, we should get there about the same time you pass through at that pace Wink

That's what it's all about Chook! I'll have to see if I can ride up to where you'll meet MM - can't get the time to go all the way but would be good to put a face to all the jokes you put up. Also hoping to catch up again with Gus and Carol at the Superbikes at the Island.

Maybe if you only half filled your tank at a time it may give the illusion of going further because you would be putting petrol in more often  East Coast Ramble 959052286   Laughing

If I remember correctly , they have a 24 ltr tank & run pretty economically so you tend to get a long way on a tank anyway ( I had one for a few years ............very underrated bike )

Thanks for the suggestion Paul - not sure Chook would fall for it!Evil or Very Mad The problem is me - dehydrated yesterday and of all places was cramping in the hands. Had to pull off for awhile and enjoy the scenery before heading off again. Next problem - rain is forecast and I didn't pack wet weather gear Embarassed and I hate packing up wet tents.

Keep your fluids up, drink plenty before you start and do regular water stops in this weather

Should have read the hydration advice yesterday! East Coast Ramble 3579372250 Was pushing along and not stopping, 42+ degrees and with roadworks everywhere and restricted speed limits ranging between 40 kph to 80kph, i was out in it for too long. I got to Bonny Hills absolutely knackered. You're right Gus (smart a.) Tassie sounds pretty good at the moment. On the other hand, the Yammie is running brilliantly.

Can check out the Honda in Ringwood if you like if its still there. You could ride it home.

Stopped in Nowra caravan park last night. I have been in some feral camps in my time but last night takes the cake. Tonight in Eden and tomorrow night Lakes Entrance.
