The MRA one is the only one I'm aware of.

BTW, jump over to the introduce yourself thread and tell us a bit about yourself Wink

screen - Bandit screen Empty Laminar Lip spoiler

Post  Trucktoe Fri 18 Nov 2016, 12:18 pm

I looked at the Laminar Lip for my bike before I decided on getting a larger touring screen.

I only recently fitted the MRA screen with pretty good results. I bought the entire "Vario" screen from EBay, sent from Germany. I spent a long time checking out different screens and reviews. What I have found is the following:
MRA also just makes the spoiler as an add on to the oem screen but almost the same price as buying the full Vario.
Laminar lip makes two different spoilers to add to the oem screen but again, not cheap.
I have the tinted Vario and think that it actually looks really good on the Bandit.
The screen without the spoiler is not very high, possibly even a bit lower than oem.
With the spoiler at the highest setting the wind blast hits half way up my visor. I'm 6 foot
It doesn't block the wind, it cuts it down to a gentle breeze below that level .
I imagine the "touring" Laminar lip is a bit higher and would put the wind blast a bit higher.
Before the Vario I had a double bubble which was useless. I made my own Laminar out of a flat sheet of acrylic by slowly heating it over the BBQ to soften it and worked it to shape. It worked as good as the Vario does now but didn't look as good.

I'm 6' as well, my standard screen hits about there at 80-90 kmh, top of my helmet at 110kmh

Saw one of these on a 1250 Naked today, actually looked pretty good, a bit smaller than the faired model's MRA screen.

The Vario is a bit hard to explain. When I say the wind hits half way up my visor it's a lot less of a blast than my standard screen. The Vario kind of splits or cuts down the force of the air rather than blocking it. When I'm riding and I slowly raise my hand it is about at half way up my visor that I feel the major difference in wind. I have to say though that I always had issues with a sore neck with the double bubble and even worse with the standard screen yet I ride all day with the Vario and no sore neck. It seems to cut down the wind force but still let's air through. It does nothing for my crappy super noisey helmet though

Not sure of the Australian supplier though

Fitted one of these to my GSX 1250 FA a few weeks back, it's cut down the wind buffeting considerably, wind is now blown over my helmet instead of directly into my visor, reduced the amount of bugs on the visor etc
