Pete - Introduction

Post  Pete on Thu 07 Oct 2010, 9:09 am

G'day,

I ran into Baz at Road Warriors a week ago, and he handed me a card. So here I am!

I've got a two week old GSX 1250 FA (blue).

So far it's got Oxford heated grips, Tomtom Rider 2 sat nav, Ventura rack, and a Kaoko throttle lock.

Soon to follow are "Galfer" front rotors, "Pazzo" levers, a tribo seat grip for the pillion, and an Akrapovic slip on.

...and that'll do it I think, at least until the warranty runs out! ;-)

Look forward to chatting/meeting all of you in due course!

Welcome.. the cheap knock off Pazzo's for $39.95 from Ebay are just as good quality. I've got the long ones in black. For the money exceptional quality/value.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

I thought I'd put up a pic as well. Here she is at Bathurst two days after I bought her.

The orange vest is because I was on TEC duties for the day...

I'm ashamed to admit, I have never ridden around Mt Panorama. The only time I rode to Bathurst, they had the stupid 12 hour race on and the track was closed. Just waiting for my little brother to get his bike (84 FJ1100) registered and it'll be the first place we'll go.

That foot is getting awful close to the ground Smile

I ran my bike in at the Collie motorplex after it's 1000km service. The best way to run them in I reckon. If they can't stand that then the bike is going to be a piece of crap for the rest of it's ownership. I was touching my left boot down on the final corner as it's off camber, wore away half of the hero blob by the end of the day.

BTW.... those stock exhausts are massive! Very Happy

Try this place for knock off Pazzo's http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Clutch-Brake-Levers-Suzuki-GSF-1250-650-BANDIT-GSX-1400-/290447932558?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a00bbc8e

I'm running them and they are as good as the Pazzo's for about a 5th of the price.

A bit further into the corner ground contact was made. I've hit the ground a number of times now, especially when punting it up the Old Road. Admittedly it's not hard to do on a sports tourer, so time to get some boots with sliders I think (I came off an '04 CBR600RR)...

Yeah I'm going to go the knock-off "Pazzos". No point paying top dollar for what are essentially the same item! :S

...and the stock can is going shortly, with an Akrapovic slip on going in its place! cheers

Has anyone gone an aftermarket rear shock yet? I've been eyeing off a Wilbers unit.

I just noticed the rack, that's looks very cool and unobtrusive. I assume that's a Ventura setup ?

That's right, the Ventura sports rack. It replaces the pillion grab rail.

The bag is about the size of a tissue box.

I reckon the rear shock is fine for me @ 85Kgs. The front is more where I'd be inclinded to do something about. I've put up with it as it's not bad, but when pushing you'll findthe limit and get a tank slapper for your effort too. I've received a good wake up call on a favourite road trying to keep up with a mate on an 07 CBR100RR probably not as bad as older bikes , but still a worry with such a heavy bike.

...but you can go from a shock that has only preload adjustment to a shock that has:

-low speed compression adjustment
-high speed compression adjustment
-rebound adjustment
-preload adjustment

I notice Wilbers make front springs as well for the GSF 1250 Bandit. I'm assuming the FA forks are exactly the same.
