Awesome Ride Found
I didn't post this as a ride report because I did in on 4 wheels.
I cant wait for the other side of winter or a warmer than usual Sunday and I'll cut a lap of THIS ROUTE along the Old Sale Road as it looks to be a fantastic riding road. It was a ripper in the work Forester.
Usually if I'm heading to the hills North of Melbourne I take the Princes to Nilma then head North. Not any more I wont.
Some of you will have done it or at least parts of it like me but its worth sticking to the Old Sale Road. Have a coffee stop in Neerim South and it would be a great ride. Even with the straight bits coming into Rosedale its still nice scenery. Its off the main roads so probably off VicPol's priority list too.

Well spotted Chris. I've done all parts of that in car and on bike. When I was on the bike, we did Willow Grove, Hill End, Noojee to get to Powelltown. It was wet (in fact, every time I've been to Powelltown, it's been wet!). It's definitely a pleasant change from the freeway.

Yes that's the correct way to Noojee but pretty out of the way route to get to Powelltown/Yarra Junction or Healesville. But that would make a good lap back along Old Sale RoadEwok1958 wrote:Well spotted Chris. I've done all parts of that in car and on bike. See out the winter and I'll meet up with you in Traralgon and we'll do a day trip.

Great ride
I used this road on my way home from the Philip Is classic, so much more enjoyable than the regular highway. I stayed with a mate in Bairnsdale for a couple of days riding around there and then came home to Wodonga up the Omeo Hwy.
