There is  really good instruction set here for adjusting the height on a Bandit seat (with pictures):

http://forums.banditalley.net/index.php?topic=9058.0

I've copied and pasted the pics to our site, below.  Many thanks and well done to the guys at Bandit Alley, specifically ZenMan. cheers

This applies to the 2005+ GSF650, 2006 GSF1200 and 2007 onwards GSF1250 Bandits with adjustable seat.

The seat comes apart in two pieces:

Remove two screws and two nuts:

Viola!:

Put the rear (passenger) section aside.

Now remove the 4 rubber bumpers on the front section and the two screws under the front lip:

In the next pics, the seat is turned around so the image is reversed.

With the screws and bumpers removed:

The seat pan will separate from the shell:

Like so:

Now remove the 2 bracket nuts:

Move the bracket to the other 2 holes and replace the nuts:

Replace the seat pan onto the shell. Now install the front 2 screws under the front lip in the other 2 holes for the high position.

This is what it looked like before removing the seat pan:

This is after putting the pan back on in the high position:

Notice the one inch gap this creates between the shell and the seat pan above.

Now replace the rubber bumpers, reversed from their original position.

Bumpers in low position:

Bumpers in high position:

Adjusting the Bandit Seat Seat0113

Put the front and rear seat sections back together:

Now install the seat back on the bike and you're done.

Good work Dave. I'm surprised nobody has made a single seat unit and turned the pillion perch into a storage compartment.

You'd have to retain the rear seat base to get the locking tabs but it could be done (in theory!). cheers

Bit of cutting and welding and maybe the lock could be moved to the front seat.

It does make you wonder why this stuff isn't in the Owners Manual - surely not the sort of thing you need to get the dealer to do at $80+ per hour labour.

Last thing I want to do is take her on a ride.

Time to get away, time for some peace and quiet......

Mmmmm...the "babe" can get her own bike.
Personally, I can't stand doubling, and single seat rego is a lot cheaper.

I love it when my daughter rides 2 up with me, 2 reasons, it's great dad/daughter time and if she's on the bike, there's no where for her mother to sit Wink

As far as I know QLD is the only state that does it

The only difference here is between a "solo motorcycle" and a "side car"

Seat numbers have no impact on cost no
