Difference between seats on 07 and 09?

So I just picked up a Shad Comfort Seat for my 07 GSF1250S but upon pulling the old one apart and installing the new one, realised there are some differences. With things not lining up, there was no way it was all going together. I checked the box and old mate at the shop has ordered me one for the 09 model. I thought 07-12 were pretty much the same?! Are the seats different?

Just had a look at my parts site ( Alpha Sports ) and all the seat parts are the same numbers between the 07 and 09 1250.

But then there's the 09-12 range, right? I think he's ordered me the latter

As close as I can get is with parts list of the 2011, and there is a couple of part number differences, but not all. The main seat has a changed part number along with the striker and frame bracket it fits into, but the pillion seat and the base of the main is the same between the models.

I'd say if there is a difference in the striker layout, this is what is causing your replacement not to fit.

The base or frame bracket is what's different, particularly where the front connects to the pillion. The two outer screw mounts are quite different. I should have taken photos before cracking the shits and restoring to original. Found a guy about 1hr 20 away with a Corbin, so I'm going to check it out instead
