Torque specs for stainless bolts
Hi all and Merry Christmas from Belgium, just recently bought some stainless fastners for my 1250fa
including bottom pinch bolts for front axle, front caliper mounting bolts and was wondering if anyone knows
what the torque settings should be for these? I reckon 25nm is probably about right but any advise would be welcome
regards

Remember, Stainless with Ally, use an anti-seize or a similar product...Chemical reaction between the two!

I briefly had stainless steel bolts for my mirrors until one of the metallurgist at work told me they would cause the frame to rust out quicker.

Thanks for the tip, the supplier of the bolts has provided a sachet of anti-seize with each kit. I already have a few titanium parts on the bike, (chain adjusters rear axel nut) does the anti-seize need to be applied to these as well?mtbeerwah wrote:pinch bolt are 23nm

I`m a big believer in always, on anything, using anti-seize, unless the bolt calls for a bonding agent(Loctite)
Anti-Seize not only helps prevent chemical reaction with any material type, but also aids in proper torque setting.
