Wax and scratches help
Hi riders
Just wondering what wax do you use or recommend to keep the bike looking in top condition with a blemish ?
In the past I have used Mothers and Meguiars with their 3 way systems on the bike with very good results in keeping the paint looking fresh.
But now have a scratch on the side of the tank (black tank metallic flick) about 100mm long. Its not down to primer and I have tried to polish it out with the above waxes but not sure about trying a cutting wax or wet sanding for the fear of losing the top clear coat and creating a mess of things.
I was thinking about using the Turtle wax color magic black wax with the included chipstik.
So has any one used this product or advise me with removing the scratch ? Any help would be great

Re: Wax and scratches help
I have used the colour match polish with good results on a blue MX5.
The paint was aging but came up great with the polish.
It does wear off with a couple of washes.
The wax pencil fills the scratch and colour polish finishes it.
You could also try one of those clear coat repair pens for a more permanent fix.
Or maybe just scare the scratch away with those so called mufflers of yours.

Take it to a panel shop an see what they think about buffing it out. Even harsh cutters can destoy the clear and then affect the colour base.

+ 1 ................if Meguiars scratch x or swirl x doesn't help , drop past a panel shop & let them have a look at it & give you some advice .
