Fugly Bike Kawasaki Z1000

Post  BanditDave on Tue 17 Mar 2015, 1:51 pm

A riding buddy just traded his GSX-R1000 for a Kawasaki Z1000.

It has to be one of the most ugly bikes I have seen.

Some time ago on this forum there was criticism of the Bandit not being substantially altered with successive models.

I applaud Suzuki for showing some sense of style.

I'm not seeing a great deal of difference here!

Mind you I'm thinking of checking the GSXS1000 out when there's one at my dealer.

I like the look of the Z1000 (that won't surprise many given my new bike polarises opinions Laughing) but I couldn't look at the worlds worst looking dashboard for more than 5 minutes.

Had the original AU too. Actually the best car I've ever owned.  Ex wife put it on its roof pissed one night.
Both were a good ride but less people had been inside my AU!

Au's were a awesome car once you looked past the questionable styling, If I found a low km one I'd buy it now

I don't hate the styling of the newer bikes (Z1000 included), not really my thing but I'd never say never.

Ewok, the XS650 is a classic, as were all the bikes around that era and I'd like to have a shed full of them one day, but if someone released a bike that looked like a 70's bike now I wouldn't even consider it.

I suppose beauty is in the eye of the "bikeholder" . ( Ohh what a gem ).  Manufacturers seem to be targeting a different buyer these days. Not sure if you can put a finger on it. My guess would be the under 25 group. Hence the radical designs that they have all turned to. When you get a bit older like some of us, you tend to look at what you need in a bike in a different way. Would be interesting to run a poll as to what we think are the top factors in selecting a bike. ie, styling, comfort, performance, ect.  Who is good at setting up those poll thingies ??  2W.

4x LED's - inner two for low, all four on high, this might be the beginning of the end to HID's in bikes:
