Think about this

Post  RustyAs on Thu 05 Feb 2015, 9:03 pm

These two sentences tell you a lot about our political state and how we are supposed to think....

1. We are told to NOT judge ALL Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge ALL bikers and gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics

Funny that................

here's something else

2. Seems we are always hearing about how the Australian Old Age Pension Plan will run out of money. How come we never hear about welfare running out of money? What is interesting is the first group "worked for" their money.

BUT

The second?

Think about it!

Unfortunately bikers and guns fall into a category which is well publicised and a crowd pleaser to be seen to have under control ( except if you live in America and are a member of the gun lobby ).............The muslim issue is a lot more complex , as with most religions over the ages, their teachings can be interperated to suit any individuals needs , hence ......the holy wars of the middle ages / the problems in Ireland , the middle east Etc  , have been examples of people using whoever they see as their God to their own needs . Where the lines become blurred is with the genuine ones who believe & live their lives in a peaceful way .

Unfortunately as long as we have unemployment, Illness and social imbalance , we will always need a welfare safety net and unfortunately there are those who will try to rort the system ( human nature ) The trick is to make it as hard as possible to get away with this by better screening etc of the applicants and incentives to seek alternative ways to make a living ...............Now if we were talking of the pollies pension / retirement plans being brought back in line with every one else's that may go some way toward fixing some of the injustices we have .
