Safe Riding
Just wishing everyone a safe ride if you're out and about this weekend
For those in double demerits states take extra care
Lets hear some stories next week about where you went and what you did and who you did it to

Re: Safe Riding
A mate and I both happened to have RDO's today so we had a nice early start to the long weekend.
We spent the afternoon riding though the Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley, a lot of what we travelled through was the areas devastated by bushfires only a few weeks ago.
I met him at Wynn Vale and we headed of through Golden Grove to One Tree Hill Rd, then onto Kersbrook, Williamstown and Tanunda where we stopped at the local to re hydrate. Then we headed over to Eden Valley, Mt Pleasant the long way from there to Gumeracha, back to Kersbrook , stopping at the Kersbrook TAavern to wash away the taste of soot before heading back across through Humbug scrub and then on home, I did just over 240km from the time I left home, pic's to come a bit later.

Re: Safe Riding
I wanted to stop and get a shot with the bike in front of some of the burnt out area, the best spots for a picture all seemed to be where there was no where safe to pull over or on steep down hill stretches
Re: Safe Riding
We were having a bit of a chuckle about the bikes, and not the obvious "odd couple" that they are.
Chris, his twin Graeme and I have only recently become reaquainted after we headed off to different parks of SA and the rest of the country after we finished school.
The last time we went for a ride together was in 1981, we were both 16, I had a Kawasaki KL250 trail bike, Chris was riding his Dad's farm bike, a 100cc Suzuki Ag bike, mine's grown by 1000cc and his by 1600cc.
That day in '81 we went to his 17yo girlfriends place about 10 km from his farm, there was no where for her on his bike so she rode on the back of mine, her (very cute) 15yo sister was pissed at missing out so she ended up sitting between me and the tank, we must have done at least 10 or 15km like that before taking them home. That night heading home I was nearly cleaned up on the Dukes Highway by a semi on the wrong side of the road coming over a hill, luckily I was able to go bush and keep it all together, I'm pretty sure I never told my parents about that day

Oh, there is one thing all you Aussies are not taking into account.
It's not only Australia Day on Monday, but also the birthday of a very special lady in my life. All of us have a lady in our lives as special as this lady is to me, as without these ladies being around, not one of us would be here on this forum, or, more importantly, riding our bikes.
I am very happy to say that all of the citizens & residents of Australia enjoy a day off to celebrate my mums' birthday.
Happy 81st birthday on the 26th mum
