Yesterday's weather will be in Vic & NSW today, anyone in fire prone areas take care

This is part of the latest SA Police News update on Facebook less than 20 minutes ago, as well as that there are a number of road closures listed
A number of the towns listed are Rural or Semi Rural towns, Golden Grove is a heavily populated suburb of Adelaide
The SAMPSON FLAT fire is travelling in a very erratic manner and is expanding in most direction towards Golden Grove, Upper Hermitage, Break Neck Hill, Kersbrook Township, One Tree Hill Township and the Little Para Reservoir.
There is a risk to lives and homes.
The uncontrolled fire is burning in Scrub.

I read a possible cause for this one was using an incinerator, what kind of moron does that living in a bushfire prone area on a 44 deg windy day Evil or Very Mad

One report I heard a while back suggested we are in for far worse weather conditions today than Ash Wednesday, forecast for thunderstorms with little or no rain, this one is going to be big, I'm not looking forward to hearing about the carnage later

Northerly winds have been here a while now, they've just announced they are forecasting a Westerly change with gusts up to 110kmh, that combined with expected lightening strikes and next to no rain, it's looking pretty dire

5 houses confirmed gone, many more expected to be confirmed as they can better assess the area

The cooler change has hit Adelaide, with it much stronger winds and unfortunately no rain where it's needed, it's going to be a long night for the CFS and locals

Even with all the horror stories and devastation being reported today nothing prepared me for reading this, I had to give both my dogs a great big cuddle after Sad

That's absolutely tragic.
I read it on FB last night and some of the comments on the original post makes me ashamed to be human. I've never seen such trolling. They may be deleted now.
We use a local kennel/cattery fairly regularly.
So sad for everyone involved.

Today is the 5th day this fire has been burning, the past 2 days it hasn't been regarded as a immediate threat to life. The next few days a forecast possible showers/chance of rain/rain at times, hopefully it will poor but it is the possible the storms forecast for tomorrow and Thursday will be more of a hazard with lightening strikes and no rain, let's hope not, a good drenching would be just what the doctor ordered

This is the latest media release

**BUSHFIRE UPDATE**
Up to 38 homes and four businesses are thought to have been destroyed in the Adelaide Hills bushfire, Premier Jay Weatherill has confirmed.
Kersbrook is the worst-hit location with 12 homes lost, Mr Weatherill said.
Some 134 people have now been injured — mainly firefighters.

So far only in some places, but more to come over the next few days. They were saying it was 95% out at this stage earlier this evening . Fingers crossed we don't get any more ............it's going to be a long hot summer .
I suppose another down side of urban sprawl is these areas are becoming more & more populated .(I'm not sure how this fire has impacted on our water supply yet with ash and use to put out the fire, they might have to crank up the desal plant a bit  )
