There's got to be more to that story.
And Boris is a major tosser anyway.
I know and have seen posts from hundreds of riders who went to the GP either as day trippers or campers and werent stopped by the fuzz.
Dont forget Boris wasnt even stopped. He pulled over because he wanted to show how manly he was...........

Got to admit I have never had an issue with cops going to or from the island for Motogp and WSBK, but also try not to attract there attention.

there`s good cops and bad cops.
he`s obviously a knob!!

when I rode down two years ago from Q.L.D, I avoided all the main arteries on the way down, and took every twisty road possible ,so probably did twice the distance, but in saying that, that's where I expected to see cops, and that was on the known twisty bike roads of Australia, and saw none until I hit VIC, I got pulled over once for a breatho on the way home, and he was one of the nicest cops I have ever met, which I wasn`t expecting, after the way he chased me down from the opposite direction, I thought he was going to be a dick, but he was just doing his job, and what he was told to do by central control.

It is unfortunate that Motogp is closer to the annual plod graduation than WSBK - this means you get more rookie cops on patrol in October than February, wishing to make themselves into heroes and seeking quick promotion - no wonder the older guys were smiling.

PS: my sister in law is a police sargent in Vic and the rookie graduates even get up her nose with their 'over-enthusiastic' antics at time.

I agree Boris is a cop hater from way back. But that particular instance seemed a bit over the top. Ive only ever had one speeding ticket, it was on the way home from the GP ( at Benalla ) and that copper was the nicest one Ive ever dealt with. I deserved it and he was only doing his job. Theres good and bad people in all walks of life I suppose. If we all got tickets from stretching our legs on a long ride we'd all be broke. My sister is also a Vic cop Dave and I have great respect for them, tough tough job.

Years ago (either Oct 1991 or 1992) I was riding from Adelaide to Melbourne chasing a girl I'd met on the Fairstar, I stopped at Tailem Bend for a unscheduled dunny stop and one of the Vietnam Vet's was in there, he asked me if I wanted company for the ride. Off we went through the rest of SA with no issues, a few KM over the border into VIC and a plain car did a U turn and pulled us both over.

Both of us had our bags emptied on the side of the road, all our belongings were scattered over about 10m area each, neither of us had anything we shouldn't have, after about a hour the coppers just left us to clean up the mess and re-pack.

I did that trip about 1/2 a dozen more times with no more instances, I'm sure it was only because I was riding with the Vietnam Vet who was on a Harley and showing his colours.

If only I knew then what I learnt about 5 years later when I did some legal training  Evil or Very Mad
