I am new here
Hello, My name is David and I just purchased a GSX1250FA second hand with just under 6,000K's on the clock. I must say it is very enjoyable to ride and I imagine I will keep it for a long time.
I have just ordered mirror extenders, new sargent seat, and a zero gravity touring screen for it.
One thing I noticed is that the bike has a buzz or a ticking noise around 4000rpm, I posted this in the mecanical part of this forum. Perhaps it's normal and just something to get used to.
I plan on putting leds in the fake ram-air intakes near the headlight as they are really just a bug catcher at the moment.
I thought these would be an off the shelf product as they are fairly popular bike, and I believe the GSX650F has the exact same body and fairings.
Regards,
Dave.

Welcome to the forum David. I'm sure the ticking noise has been commented on before (my 1250S doesn't have it or maybe I can't hear it).

Re: I am new here
Welcome David ..........inline 4s all have a rev zone which at some point has some vibes .........the motor in the bandit ( apart from a noisy clutch rattle on idle with the clutch lever out ) does make some noises while running which seem common to the bandit motor. If the ticking is excessive or loud , drop past a mechanic & let them have a listen to it for peace of mind .

Hi David and welcome to the forum.
I have a GSX1250FA as well, I don't believe I have heard the noise you are referring to, or maybe I'm use to it or can't hear it over the staintune.
I too have looked at putting lights inside the two fake vents, but I'm looking for something of function, as in some small spotlights. So far nothing small enough that will fit and also have a usable light spread.

Re: I am new here
hi there
I too have recently been lucky enough to land one of these bikes. Love it!
So far this forum has been a goldmine of useful information. The abuse hasnt been too bad and nobody has mentioned sheep to me yet.
My machine came with a skorpion can and a scott oiler. I put heated grips on (I commute all year around), bar risers (am a bit tall), a headlight guard, tanklock bag and got a custom job done on the saddle. Seriously considering a MadStad screen system.
Look forward to hearing more about your bike. I have the slightly noisey clutch at idle and in neutral, cant say I have noticed the noise you described but I always wear ear plugs!

Re: I am new here
Hi again and thanks for making me feel welcome.
I have a staintune can too and it is a bit bit loud but I like the sound.
Anyway as I was saying about putting leds in the fake ram air intake, I found this on a GSX650 forum:
gsx650f.freeforums.org/fog-lights-behind-air-duct-t233-15.html
I'm just on ebay trying to find something suitable. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Dave.

Hi Dave, welcome to the forum.
I remember reading there is a minimum distance for front indicators to be 75mm from the headlight and 240mm from each other, could be close by the looks of it.
If you could get some clear lenses a pair of these hi/low miniture HID projectors would be a nice project:

Thanks Barry,
I was thinking HID's might be a bit involved and may not be 100% legal. I do really like the orange aswell but it too may not be legal?
Anyway, back to work.
My mirror extensions arrived today so I will have a go at fitting them tonight.
Dave.
