Tags flash stuff
Yesterday i enjoyed a friday ride with Tag, when i arrived i noticed that tags bandit looked a bit different it had a brembo master cylinder and reserviour. Tag explain that he was slowly transforming his bandit into a high end bandit ok, when i asked how much ? he said a kidney and i asked him why did you buy the expensive piss cup (fluid reserviour) when you get them for free from work. So hope fully his front brakes work now. I did notice though his fluid was green. Does brocolli do that to your wee.

How much broccoli did I eat then?

It may have been worth the money for one reason alone:
That bleed nipple on the master cylinder right at the top of the system gave me the easiest and fastest bleed I've ever done since installing the abs braided lines (oh, yeah, I was one of the poor unfortunates who did the replacement and have been semi flaccid ever since). Its normally incredibly frustrating and time consuming.
Currently the brakes are as good as I've ever gotten since the replacement and expect them to get better over the next few rides. You can crack and bleed 5ml out in a few seconds and I've been getting small amounts of air each time.

Oh, I forgot.
The banjo inlet is 90 degrees different to the stock cylinder and my current braided line had too much twist so it cost another $59 for another line. If anyone needs a one off line, HEL have an online ordering system which will give a single line of up to a metre in length with any combination of fittings, mounts and colour for $59. Turns up in a couple of days

Will do, and Ewok's got an Ohlins arse coming so he can give you his thoughts.
Gus, next time in the parts shop I'm going to crack the bottles open till I find one with a nice colour.

I like the green cordial.
I've got it in my SV.
The SV clutch slave has the habit of sucking in chain lube gunk an turning the fluid to black. I have cleaned the piston seals and used most of the bottle to flush the master and line.
Now I can compare the clutch and brake reservoir to see if it's getting darker.
I love the colour when the sun shines through it. It's perdy.
What brand was it, !Tag? I have thrown the bottle.

So, just back from a weekend in the mountains and it's been bloody wonderful. Brilliant weather, roads and towns to ourselves from being between the long weekend and the GP migrations - AND I'VE GOT BRAKES - WOOHOO. Not sport bike brakes of course, but a solid dependable lever. A hell of a change after 5 years of blancmange instead of brakes.
The variable ratio is interesting. Brembo recommend 18 for 4 caliper systems and 20 for 6.
Hands on - 18 gives a shorter lever travel till first bite and then continues to travel as you apply more pressure.
At 20 the lever travels further but then pulls up harder and almost does not move from there so your modulating brake effort just from the amount of pressure on the lever.
After so long having a brake lever that felt like a clutch lever, that's what I'm running (I think just for the delight of a having a firm lever)
Its got a lot of span adjustment with an easy to use knob adjuster.
I'm a happy camper.
