Gday folks
Used to be active on the forums and on some group rides in southern NSW but dropped off when my little girl was born nearly two years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Ewok and meeting Baz, Bhoffo, Recycled and others on a few rides, including the inaugural Grumpy Tribute ride to pay our respects at Bermi. The Bathurst ride was epic too (remember that fkn storm that hit us Ewok)
Still have my 2011 naked Bandit - not much riding since the extra little person arrived.
Anyway, I have left tropical Canberra and moved back to Bris Vegas. Looking forward to finally meeting the legendary Gus and any other riders up this way and returning to some of my favourite roads in SE Qld.
Lost my old password when I changed ISPs so have re-registered.

Gidday Grover,
I'm fairly new here having only just recently bought a 2008 naked. I did lurk here for a while before I got it. Your only just up the road from me as I'm on the Goldy.

Welcome back mate. Quite a few additions and previous-bandit owners (now with different wheels) since you were about last. I had the dreaded fuel pump failure (more of a deterioration really as it never actually completely stopped working) at ~40,000kms but I put in the $50 eBay cheapie (from the US) which so far has done 22,000kms - I'm happy with that even if it fails tomorrow. Have a second new one (ie another $50 cheapie) in the shed if that happens. Zero labour costs thanks to Gus' tuition thread. We also have a GSXR-1000 rider down here in the Far South Coast Social Riders Group who has recently put one of these after-market cheapies in - so far, so good. All else good.
See also Parkes ride next March - it would be great if you can make it.
Say hi to the family from me - thanks.

I finally took your advice and re-registered after bumping into you and Recycled on the Monaro earlier this year. Glad to know the cheapy fuel pumps work and even more glad mine failed under warranty.
March not a good month for a leave pass as its the wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary- depends on timing.
Say hello to Bev for me. The farm must be looking good now. How are those goats going (the ones I named Rogan and Josh)? Ewok you now have free accom in Brisbane if you and Bev ever want it. Will send you a PM to catch up mate. Ride safe mate.

Well lets go for a bloody ride then!
I spent the last couple of months renovating and landscaping at my old place in Canberra - hardly had any time to ride anywhere except Bunnings.
I used to live at Logan Village and loved riding the roads around Goldy hinterland and Beauy areas.
Cheers Grover.

Welcome back mate.
No much has changed around here except for a few VTwins and Hondas infiltrating the ranks.
Would you like me to see if I can sort your old username out?

Hi 2WA. I hear that you are half the man you used to be. Well done. I see you swapped the FZ for a VTR - nice! Nearly bought one instead of the Bandit but didn't fit my 6'2" frame too well.
Mate if you could sort my old username that would be great. PM me if you need details.
Cheers

Thanks KiwiSteve. Surely we can manage to meet up for a few beers in northern NSW. Always been a fan of the old pub on the hill at Yamba but happy for another venue.Kiwisteve wrote:Welcome back Grover

I have plenty of time to ride thanks to Mr Abbott's voluntary redundancy payout. I am looking to buy a business once my house in Canberra sells - auction early next month.
I finished my renos at 7am just before I got on the plane, still covered in acrylic slate sealant and hadn't slept for 2 days. Nearly killed me but I have huge kudos up with the Minister for Finance and Recreation (at least for now).
I am tied up over school holidays looking after my kids, but after that I am keen to ride (hard). Shame I lost "my get out of jail free" card for Qld.

Happy to lend a hand mate if it gets you a leave pass for more riding.
