Question re Riding Apparel
Hello Forum members,
After returning to motorcycling following a long absense, I have been searching the net for riding apparel. I have discovered clothing sold by "Held Australia". It appears to be of very good quality but is priced accordingly!
This apparel is sold on-line out of premises in Drummoyne (Sydney)
I contacted Ray, the fellow who runs the show in Australia (very helpful I must say). Ray told me that Held in Germany do all the R&D for BMW, but also sell the gear under their own name.
I am particularly interested in their Goretex touring suits.
My question is, has anyone had any experience with either this gear or this distributor? If so, I would greatly value your comments prior to laying down my hard earned.
Thanks,
Graham

Re: Question re Riding Apparel
Thanks 2wheelsagain and Paul. In most instances I would agree with you Paul. I dropped into a local BMW dealership in Gosford today with my wife to look at riding gear for the two of us. The salesman was very, very keen to deal!
Like you fellows , I have not heard of "Held". A perusal of their website reveals a number of items that are virtually the same as the BM gear. You never know, other Forum members may have some knowledge of these products.
Cheers, Graham

Re: Question re Riding Apparel
That's a good way to go about getting the right gear.
Check out the styles and colours at the BMW dealer. Find the correct sizing. Then get in touch with Ray and see what deals can be done.
I like to look at the money spent on motorcycle accessories in cost per year.
Eg. My last leather pants cost me $70 and lasted me over twenty years. Roughly $3.50 a year.
My leather jacket. $180 / 20 years $9/year.
Quality gear will provide you with good protection and long service life.
