Last Minute Ride

Post  Re-Cycled on Sun 22 Jun 2014, 8:20 am

Just putting it out there.

Are any of you guys, handy to Newcastle, not working tomorrow,  Monday 23rd June and would like to do a ride in the Hunter area?

My RDO was rescheduled and my other plans fell through.

PM me or post here for a mobile number.

Sorry Baz we decided to give the top half of the Putty a miss due to the shade and taking too long to warm up this time of year and have elected to do Dungog - Gloucester - Nabiac - Booral or something like that.

I don't think this is worth a full ride report, only two members and the both elected to take the V Twin option. Laughing

Bosco and I met at Hexham Shell servo and remarkably set off spot on time at 1000.

As the duly elected tour guide I decided to take Lambs Valley Way from East Maitland up to Gresford.

Where we had a hot beverage before continuing on to Dungog, then Stroud for a comfort stop before stopping for a pie at Gloucester.

The Bucketts Range at Gloucester.

From here we headed to Nabiac after a friendly local warned us of a police person at the lookout near the Bundook turn off.

By the time we got there he was probably preoccupied with a car that had gone off the road!

From Nabiac we headed back down the highway with a detour along the old road now called Wootton Way.

This doesn't get enough traffic so we had to be cautious where there were damp patches and mossy sections.

By now the clouds made it fairly dark and it was getting relatively cold so we headed back down the highway only stopping at Mark's parent's place for an errand. This is where I found out Mark is bi-lingual, he can speak Australian and, when he's with his parents, he can speak English. Laughing

Thanks for the company a good ride was had by all (both). Smile
