Scarlett's Back
After 8 months of ownership and many sleepless nights trying to figure her out (like the woman who flirts but you cant get) Scarlett returned to my garage last night.
Here's a pic of her at one of her favorite haunts on the way home
The list of mods and new swear words is very long but the freezing ride from Melb to work yesterday morning was very enjoyable.
The light throttle/low speed surging issue turned out to be a crook carb diaphragm. It wasn’t split or anything obvious but it was about the last option after spending heaps on other carb, ignition, electrical bits. She's also had the forks repainted and we chucked some black paint on the radiator guards. CBR954 rakes and braided lines are installed and are dynamite!
Next mod might be to chop the rear fender, fork brace and new rear shock but for now she's home and better than new.
She should be pumping out around the 120hp at the wheel with a huge fat torque mid-range in a 195kg package

She looks sweet 2W. It's a nice feeling when everything is sorted out. Makes it all worth while.

Good to hear you've got it all sorted out.

Re: Scarlett's Back
Thanks guys. Most of the work was done by a mate who just lives and breathes Firestorms. Without him she would have been sold as a dud bike.
There doesn’t seem to be any issues from the sump full of fuel she copped. I’ll be dropping the oil and filter over the weekend again and she should be right from there on.
The 200+ km trip (2 stops just in case) to work yesterday morning returned 18.3km/l at a steady 4000ish RPM (120km/h indicated) which is pretty good. Its anyone’s guess how thirsty she will be with the big main jets playing in the 6 – 8000RPM range though (redline 9500RPM) Still, the “cruising” consumption is almost in Bandit territory.

They should call it the bike devalue'r....why an earth would you want to ADD miles/km's to a bike when it is not being ridden? Would not help log book services either. Stupid.
Glad to see Scarlet is all better though!

15 usable liters mate. At 4k it's under the sweet spot but certainly rideable in 6th.madmax wrote:5.46 l/100. not bad, as you say like Bandit. Just must be a tiny tank.
I'll post a pic or video over the weekend of her shooting flames out the Delkavics.
I'm shaking my head at those trailers.
The bird is looking good Hammy
