It was amazing to see the Bandits quality paint disappear under a thinner soaked rag! 
That's all I did Hammy, gave the wheels a good going over with thinners, masked off the tyres, valve and hub bits, and hit them with a can of caliper paint. Not a professional job, but it'll do. A nice change anyway.

Looks great. Keeping them clean might be painful. I'm a little lazy, my rims get cleaned every tyre change.

No polishing for me, and the gold will be limited to the wheels only....and filthy within the week!!

It's only the forum scripting, if I right click images in Firefox and select "view image" I see the whole picture, I'm sure something similar exists in other browsers if you really want the whole image.

That looks great mate, Very classy looking. It's a nice shade of gold, Not in ya face.
Yeah, I wouldn't go to much gold. 
Tho, I've always wanted to paint the TB's. They look unfinished. 
But everyone has there own taste.

*Balanced TB's. My TPS was fine, but you should check yours.
*Arrow race headers with Yoshimura TRS.
*PC3 with the supplied map and these mod got 123hp with 115nm of torque.
*Neville Lush Racing custom tune = 130hp with 125nm at the Tyre (Standard 98hp/108nm).

VHT high temp caliper paint. I just gave the wheels a bloody good clean with turps, then thinners (prepsol). Masked off the tyres, valve, and hub, the hit each wheel with a full can. 
I haven't tried to wipe off any excess oil from the chain yet, will keep you posted.

Well, turps works ok to get the oil off the new gold paint. The finish is slightly rough, not a shiny smooth surface. Probably down to my application (not close enough maybe??). Anyway, other that a couple of stone chips, the paint seems to be holding on!!

Keep your images to less than 800 pixels wide and they won't be cut off Wink

Use scotchbrite on the shiny parts of the wheel. Scuffing up the surface gives the new paint somewhere to stick to.

2wa.....my pics are taken on the fruit phone, then uploaded to photobucket. Is there somewhere I can adjust the photo size, or do I have to find a different program? Keen to learn!!? study
