Naked headlight review? Empty Naked headlight review?

Post  mtbeerwah Fri 25 Apr 2014, 7:56 pm

Hello,

Who here has a naked Bandit, and can tell me what the headlight is like on it?

Seems to be common knowledge that the water cooled faired light is not much chop, so wanted to know if there`s complaints with the naked round light?

I`m buying another Bandit, a GEN 1 faired model, and will be making it naked, so need a light to suit.

Any thoughts appreciated.
John.

I can't help but even if the stock naked light is crap it should be a sinch to swap it.

yeah your right, but I`m struggling to find a GOOD light to put in it.

I know Hella and the likes, do inserts to replace OEM, but I`m still suss on some of the major brands, and don`t want a cupboard full of lights that will gather dust after disappointment, but I can see that happening.

I`m a fussy bastard when it comes to light output, but want to keep with the round light period theme.

Had a look at some knew sealed beam LED replacements, and I`m not sold on them either.

I know there`s got to be a manufacturer out there that has sorted the parabolic with good light throw, but just have to find them.

that has crossed my mind.

have thought about speed triple lights, and I think the twins do look better than a single.

don`t know if to believe or not, but did come across a triple site, and some on there were complaining about them too, they seem like they should work.

been looking out for some for a few weeks now and no luck yet.

patients is a virtue I suppose

I had a problem with the lights in the wife's vw jetta mk6. I replaced them last week with Osram nightbreaker 120s. Worked great, pretty close to hid without blinding everyone. Still doesn't fix poor head light design or poorly adjusted beams.

Not really my thing anymore but I never thought it inadequate  .I used to use a 60 w low and 100w high globe (a bit hard to find ) with a relay (years ago ) and it was brilliant. That may not be the exact w but close .

The standard naked headlight should be fine. I was more talking about replacement globes. The 55w osram night breaker unlimited 120s are brilliant
