Mind you I feel for the owner, all around him are subdivided blocks with brand new townhouses on them and he can't do the same because his house was in a movie!

Perhaps council should come up with the funds to compensate the owner then ..................maybe they wouldn't be so quick to heritage list it then . Rolling Eyes

Maybe the owner could be a little bit smarter and turn the property into an Australian movie museum.

Fill the place with memorabilia sourced from the local recycle centre.

Entry fee of $20 per adult ($22 if you are from Adelaide!) and pensioner concessions of only $19.90, kids free if accompanied by their great grandparents

Keep an Aussie tradition alive.

I understand you guys pay more for your electricity than any other state without complaining, so why not "stick it to yas" for everything else. Rolling Eyes

Yep, renewable energy is a great idea but it's very expensive and requires a renewable bank balance to pay for it.

I find it a little amusing/interesting that some of your power transmission towers blow down with a little wind just a while back. I survived Cyclone Ului in Mackay some years ago where they recorded 210Km/h wind gusts. None of the power transmission towers blew over. Maybe SA purchase from Ikea

Highest utility costs, lowest wages

If I did the same job for any other state government I'd be on at least 6k more a year, NSW, I'd be over 10k better off, before the State Bank collapse there was no where near that difference

Perhaps the biggest irony of all ................nobody is happy with who we have in Govt ,but they still get voted in . Question ( and that unfortunately isn't  just the current ones  Rolling Eyes )

That is just terrible, have you thought of defecting?

When I was working in the coal mines in the Bowen Basin I often thought that I was worth a bit more than the mere $150K per year they were paying me. Crying or Very sad

Cost of living is higher too so maybe you wouldn't be so much better off.

We'll have you in wait awhile @chook some houses in Collie selling for just over 100k ATM with the current down turn. Last time this happened we bought our house for next to nothing. At one point you could buy a block for 4K. Now that is super cheap
