Hi all, just thought I would share this as it may save someone some $.Both lights stopped working but park light was ok.I was unable,in my limited capacity,to diagnose the problem,Took it to Independent M'cycles in Toowoomba where their quite experienced man took 8 hours to find. They did look after me with the price though & would recommend them if in the area. The problem ended up being in the start button of all places as when pressed to start,it turns the light off while engaged.I hope this information may be of use to someone.Cam.

8 hours. Surely you mean 0.8 of an hour.  scratch

Just to explain my previous post, here are the relevant components of the lighting/start circuit.
I have drawn them using similar shapes as per the original manual.
This is from the B1250 manual but I'm pretty sure it is the same, if not very close.

I agree, Dave.
Eight hours does seem an inordinate amount of time for their "experienced" mechanic to fix the problem.
