Re: Happy birthday STI-REX
Thanks Guys
Had a Quiet day considering our future living in AUSSIE or moving back to NZ as our kids are there and the other half is missing them too much
Also my arm is not playing the game and is actually going backwards with some daily tasks really taking a toll on my well being
I also have not been able to secure any type of employment due to this and there are too many young people (cheap wages ) in this town so they get the jobs I was even told by a local auto store that i was too old (46 yrs)
I have been door knocking just about every business in town and as far away as Noosa to Maryborough on a weekly basis and given out over 240 resume's and still no joy
It seems no one wants to employ a slightly disabled ex truck driver not even the transport companies ( I could do office / despatch / forklift type work )
Also the Mr's had a mild stroke about 6 months ago so we need to look to the future in regards to our health and financial future
And as we are Kiwi's we are not eligible for any center link help ( direct quote from center link Gympie ) even though I am officially disabled from a workplace accident in Australia I can't even get a disability pension( I would rather work any way than bludge off others )
The Mr's is only working part time in a remote based type application doing admin work for a legal firm
So as the money drains it seems that it may be time to sell the house before the bank does and go back home to NZ
I have a long history in the transport sector in NZ and I was regularly approached with employment offers as I have operated fuel tankers , sideloaders , Hiab crane trucks , B-Doubles both local delivery and line haul and have done some time in despatch positions and customer relations roles
So surely I can secure some type of employment within this sector
Moral of the story make sure you have good income insurance as super based disability cover is just a farce and they will stuff you around for ever and send you to see many doctors who all say the same ( yes you are disabled ) and still tell you you have to wait even after 2 yrs of lodging the claim which was 18 months after the 2 surgeries
Sorry to rant on but the anti depression drugs aren't working too well today
Again cheers for the birthday wishes
James
