Yes, It's a credit to Cam & Sloth. But just as much so, It's a credit to the members. Making it an easy going, Helpful community.

I think Suzuki owners in general are a pretty unpretentious lot , with nothing much to prove to anyone , & as such tend to be a bit more down to earth .The fact that the ones who have changed brands who still frequent this forum as in an " old bunch of mates " atmosphere  speaks heaps for the forum itself & the members ( who also tend to be self regulating with the forum  , & without the need for moderators etc ) ...................................Better stop now , I think I feel a tear drop  forming

You have to admit Honda and Yamaha make some quality products!

My Honda lawn mower is great and Yamaha pianos are used by many top musicians.

Not to mention some fine quality Yamaha stereo components (best speakers I ever bought - back in 1979 - still beats the crap out of anything of a similar price today).  

And I'm offended because I have both an XS850 and TRX850!!    

I also think its that Bandit owners understand a valued product whilst our bikes might be in the lower end of price and componentry, i still challenge any one to show me a better valued bike across the price spectrum, most bikes like the z1000, cb1300, FZ1000 and so on are much more expensive and whilst they might have better suspension and brakes they certainly don't go that much better. and with some help from our Forum mates we get them to handle and stop.

 as a active forum member i have made some great online friends and in the flesh ( if i can get 2wa roster sorted and Ewok to finish that bloody fence) and no doubt that we will make more as our group grows. Its also interesting that in the nearly 3 years that i have been a member not once have i had a problem that wasnt solved or guided in the right direction and for that i am forever grateful

so our little bandit forum is something to be proud of

I'm a past Honda owner, yes lawn mower AND the cb400, but as I've only been riding a short time, (5 yrs) I'm not qualified to say Honda is shit. I actually enjoyed my 400...and miss it *sob*

P.S Suzy is still in the garage on life support, black dog one day ride in March and I'd like to be there

I know what you mean. I haven't been on here for ages, but looking through the posts, nothing much has changed, just a bunch of friends talking bikes and helping each other out. A few new names(well new to me).
I'm on a couple of other forums(Pradopoint and Myswag) and although its generally friendly, there are also shit stirers that seem to enjoy making trouble(both those forums are a lot bigger though so I guess you'll get that).

I'm on a couple of TL sites and they don't hold a candle to this one. Hard to navigate and the majority of members are in the US or UK which is ok except 95% of things for sale are also OS. There are however 2 helpful blokes in QLD one has over 10000 posts and theres not much he can't help you with, and the other bloke is Gus. Also a very nice Kiwi fella ( but not as nice as Steve ).

I love this forum and have met some fantastic people through here and I'm proud to call them my friends, if they'll have me. I love getting on here when I wake up and checking out MM's or Paul's joke of the day, its like a daily ritual I have. Now Gazza seems to have joined in the fun as well so the gags are coming thick and fast.

Although its predominately a Bandit site, I no longer own one, Hammy doesn't own one but I think we still love and appreciate the Bandit for what they are, a bloody fantastic motorcycle. I was only having a beer yesterday with my mate that bought mine and he was beaming. He said its the best money he's ever spent and he just grins from ear to ear when riding it. That made me feel good knowing the old girl is being loved and cared for.

So in summing up, I use this site as a social thing and it helps me relax ( most of the time ). And having owned a bandit for 5yrs I can still contribute here and there as I know the bike pretty well. Even though most of you modern fancy types have fuel injected 1250's.

I found this forum not long after I got my Bandit. As has been said, a bunch of helpful easy going members/characters.
Due to my religious beliefs I enjoy this forum also because I am not worried about opening some of the threads and finding something that would make me reconsider my membership.
I think it has a bit to do with the average age of Bandit riders and level of maturity of fellow members as to why this forum is one of my regular haunts.

Tis good indeed. I managed to get back on Bluey yesterday after a month and a bit of not being able to after my dopey drop in early Jan. The shoulder wasn't as bad as first thought and after an MRI turned out it was a fractured scapula (shoulder blade) and some torn tendons, not a ripped Supraspinatus as first thought ...., so no surgery    There is however a small sabre toothed animal in the shoulder still, but it gets quieter every day and now doesn't roar quite so loudly as it once did.  
Wow, how glum can you get not being able to ride every day! It's too easy to take health and mobility for granted until something turns it off or slows it down.   I think I'd started to get that small black dog creeping in. But returning back to Bluey yesterday really started to fill that cup again. Even started catching up on this forum again.  You're right, this is a good mob to be part of and always good for a larf.

Ah the dreaded old man shoulder. I had my left one operated on 7 years ago and waiting for a hospital bed to get the right one done. Estimated recovery: 12 months (not if I can help it), the small bone at the end will be removed and thrown out. The remaining bone will be chiseled to allow the ball joint to move. Currently getting difficult to ride but won't let that stop me. It's more trouble manouvering the bike off the centrestand. Can't lift my arm higher than my rib cage and have lost all strength except biceps.

You must have an interesting time at work sometimes

As you say "12 months recovery - not if you can help it".

I cracked my hip 5 months ago and the Doctors told me on the operating table that i wouldn't be running for atleast 8 - 12 months.

That cut pretty deep with me so I have worked hard at it, started out cycling up and down the street, then walking about 5km every day at 3 months, now I am 'shuffling' or a fast walk the full 5km every day and 10km on the weekends.

I still have a 'feeling' in my hip but not really a pain. Not if I can help it was my motto aswell and at 8-12months I'll be doing the City 2 Surf again.

I think that your mind has a lot to do with the drive and recovery and getting back to fitness. Just listen to your body and what it is capable of and be persistent. Results will then come.

I used to surf everyday, then my left shoulder went (frozen shoulder ) . Doctor said 12 months recovery . After about 8 months I was able to ignore the
pain and went for a surf . Two days later my right shoulder went ,still recovering .
