Hello from Newcastle Empty Hello from Newcastle

Post  Bosco15 Wed 04 Dec 2013, 1:58 pm

Hi all,
Picking up my new ride on Friday. 2010 Gsx1250fa with panniers, top box and a few kllicks.
Trolled through and found some interesting posts, so thought I'd join your forum.
Bought the Not Bandit to go two up around Tassie with the missus, something we've been talking about doing for a while now. My sv1k has a seat that would disappear into the missus crack and her Vfr750 is getting a bit long in the tooth to take, so after a bit of research and eBay trolling I found a bike that, I think, will be up to the job.
Already got planned the rear peg mod I read about on here and am spewing that I missed out on the modified seat that sold only recently. May have to have a go at upholstery myself.
Lol
Anyway, thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forum Bosco.

May I suggest if the bike doesn't already have them a radiator guard and a set of crash knobs.

Welcome Bosco
I second a rad guard.
Crash knobs are good for caravans Smile
You'll probably want an after market muffler if it doesn't already have one.  That will save you about 8kg but lije kost mods its a personal choice.
Im going to read about your wife's arse again because im sure I didn't read it right the first time Laughing

Lmao.  It's not that Chris has a big bum, ,it's that the Sv pillion perch is only good for one cheek.
Rad guard will be fabricated and some Derlin bungs sourced.
Had a Gsxr idling at front door, warming up for a ride.  Slight slope to the driveway,  strong wind, side stand folded and bike ended up laying on my front steps on its side. Devastated. Picked her up to find Oggy knob perched on the very edge of the step. Saved about $500 worth of plastic repairs.  Delighted.

R&G are the only company making crash knobs for the GSX

Welcome along Bosco. I know what you're talking about with the SV pillion seat, I had the 650 version before I bought my Bandit

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.
Getting excited now, picking up new girl in the morning. Roster day. So a four hour train journey to Richmond and a hour and a half ride home. Was going to trailer her home, but thought a "getting to know you ride" a better plan.
Tallon. I will have to take a spin up the Lakes Way and say hi one weekend.
Looking forward to having a play and make the bike mine. Have just been reading the throttle body sync thread. Duhla, is it? Did a great write up. What a hassle having an extra two pots, though. Balanced the SV with a home made gauge using fish tank air line and tranny fluid, lol. Maybe some more hose and some t-pieces, hmmm?

Darn, had a rostered day today. I'm planning a little ride on Saturday if you need an excuse. Very Happy

Only a short lunch run somewhere. Haven't worked out the details yet.

Nice one Peter. Just noticed that you're from Newy.
I do have a few things on Saturday, but might be able to get a spin in.
Getting a new Grandson tomorrow, so will have to beg the missus, but might be up for a ride.
