True friends

Post  paul on Sat 23 Nov 2013, 7:31 pm

Not sure why I'm posting this , so make of it what you wish .
During a lifetime we have many friends , but only a few true life long friends . I lost one of mine Thursday through cancer .
We worked together along with my mate ( her husband ) 45 years ago & have been friends ever since .
They have been with me through my apprenticeship , 2 marriages , 6 kids  , heart bypass, cancer , rheumatoid arthritis ,Birt Hogg Dube Syndrome  etc,& my often changing hectic life in general .
We played canasta as partners with both my wives , & we  watched  our & their kids grow up over the years .
My mate is devastated...........understandably , & even though his life partner has now gone , we somehow thought she would  pull through this  ,after all she had had quite a lot of illness over the years & always seemed to beat it
True friends are few & far between , & life is so fickle ......cherish them both .

Not good news Paul. I know how you feel, our good neighbour passed away from bowel cancer just over a month ago. Last week I ran over and killed my 4 year old sons dog in our driveway, all our family were absolutely gutted. Life sometimes seems to kick you in the guts for no reason.

Take it easy mate. Lean on your friends for support.

Sorry to hear that Paul. Good friends along with good family are something we all need. It's bloody hard when they move on.
Bill.
