The last thing I heard about Norton was that you pay your money when you order it and your Norton never turns up

When I was a young fella. Many years ago now. I would go down to the local small bike shop. On my pushy. The owner had his Norton Commando sitting in the showroom. I thought that it was the most awesome bike that I would ever see. It was a beauty. That dealer sold me and my dad my first bike when I was about 13. A brand spankers XL125. Think it was about $700. Dad went halves.  That was the start.

Reminds me long ago days and my ex cop 850 Police Special. Apart from the unstoppable oil leak (porous cases), it was a sweet handling bike.

Had to be so careful starting. Follow all the way through or risk broken foot. The electric starter was a joke - best known for melting the loom.
