You can let them outside, Gus. Ducks are water proof

Actually they are not water proof yet ,We let them have a swim in the sink and thet shrank 3 sizes .
Apparently they get a wax from their tail and coat the feathers as they prune themselves .These guys are only 2 weeks old .

Re: please meet Rodney and Grace .
Remind me of when we lived on the Gold Coast around 15 years ago.
We had a 1/4 acre urban block.
Our "farm" comprised 1 dobermann, 10-12 chickens and a dozen or so guinea pigs.
We were given two goslings and assured they were both female.
They were named G1 and G2.
They started laying eggs, maybe one every second day. The eggs were the same colour and shape as chicken eggs except they averaged around 150 grams each. We used them for omelettes and cakes. We didn't have a big enough egg cup for a boiled egg!
G1 and G2 were always locked in a large shelter every night to stop them honking.
Around 8-10 months later we were woken one night by a lot of crashing ang honking sounds.
It turned out that G1 was not the female we thought.
It was also pointed out that neighbours 5-6 houses away were also woken up.
Shortly after we found a person living on acreage to take G1 and G2 away
I would highly recommend geese to anyone on acreage, they are superior to guard dogs
G1 and G2 being grass eaters used to keep the back yard fairly tidy and mowing was almost unnecessary
Probably the biggest problem was they would always shit on the patio right in front of the door
There other problem was they would attack the dobermann, I think he was heading for a nervous breakdown with two geese regularly harassing him.
