Tathra - This Weekend
A few of us are heading to Tathra this weekend.
This will be a new experience for me as I've never been further south on the Snowy Mtns Hwy than Adaminaby let alone to the south coast.
I'll try and remember to take some photos' of the trip.
Apparantly we are staying in a motel that is next to or part of a pub.

Re: Tathra - This Weekend
Even though only 3 of us ended up going it was a brilliant weekend. Great roads, great weather (although it was a bit cold up around kiandra). Absolutely nothing went wrong, oh except one guy (not me) decided that he'd lead from Cooma to Bega, unfortunately he turned left not right. After we chased him down, we headed in the right direction.
I'd never been down that way before, and I'm very impressed with the roads, although the 80, 70, and 60 speed zones were somewhat annoying.
We arrived in Tathra at about 4pm, got our rooms sorted out and headed to the pub were we settled in for the evening, had a few drinks, talked bullshit and got entertained by a few of the local characters. Not a bad feed at the Tathra pub either.
On Sunday the plan was to leave Tathra at 9am and head to Batemans Bay. There was a slight change to the timing as we were ready early and left at 8. Breakfast in Bermegui (sp), topped the tanks off and headed to Batemans Bay. The road from Bermegui had some brilliant flowing sweepers but a 90k zone kept us in check. Bloody revenue raising bastard government. We then headed up to Braidwood and on to Bungendore. From there it was Murrumbateman via Sutton and Gundaroo. Then up to Yass for lunch and then home.
Total distance was about 930km's, with only the last 180 being boring.
I always seem to learn things on rides. This ride I learnt the following.
1. My MP3 player runs out of electricity after 6 hours. I must find a charger for it.
2. I'm getting old, I see an Air Hawk seat and 'highway pegs' in my future.
3. Take plenty of cash and use EFTPOS as much as possible. I hate having to give the banks $2 to get extra cash out.
All in all a bloody good weekend.

Did you remember to take the photos?
Sounds like a very successful weekend.

Ummm, yes, but only of the bikes outside servo's and cafe's. We were having too much fun riding to stop on the road.
