Introducing myself
Greetings All,
I think I have transgressed the unwritten rule by posting without introducing myself - my apologies! I have been visiting this forum for a year or so now, since I got my 07 Bandit with SRK sidecar attached, and have got lots of good info, thank you. I enjoyed the Bandit+chair so much that I bought an 06 1200 late last year.
I had a Katana 1100 about 6 years ago and was a member of the Katana club. Some of your names seem familiar so I was wondering if there were any other ex-Katana owners frequenting this site?
Cheers
Woffo

Re: Introducing myself
Hi Woffo,
Thought that rig looked familiar, Sean made it after he sold me his (brothers) red 1250. I think the larger 15" sidecar wheel would handle a bit better than my mini 10". I'm trying to get Sean to rig up a 15" front wheel for me, but with him moving shop things have been a bit busy.
Welcome to the forum, lots here to get into, don't be shy in putting your 2c worth in when you feel like it, we sometime offer change...

Hi Kiwisteve,
I'm in Bowral, NSW. Cant work out how to add my location to my profile so it appears on all my posts though!
Hi Barry, I thought I had seen photos of another rig, looks very nice. I didn't know Sean was moving, do you know where he is going to?
cheers

Just go into "profile" under the forum banner, then scroll down to personal profile, you can fill in a few bits there

Re: Introducing myself
Welcome Woffo. Hows the Bandit handle with the chair attached? I considered doing it to mine so we could take my now 3 year old on rides. But I have 2 cars with air conditioning for family outings and I like riding a two wheeler too much.

Re: Introducing myself
G'day Reddog,
It actually handles really well once you get used to it being an outfit and hence needing to be steered around corners (rather than just leaned in) and, critically I found, the difference between left and right handers! Right turns you can push harder because the turn is helped by the extra wheel on the left. But for left hand turns I need to be careful not to go into the corner too fast or the chair can start lifting, and my skills are not quite up to dealing with that yet! My wife likes me to keep all three wheels on the ground at once when she is in the chair - which is fair enough.
When Sean fitted the sidecar he took off the left passenger footpeg, so I cant take a pillion passenger at the moment, which is not really a problem as my wife and kids all prefer riding in the sidecar anyway.
cheers
Simon

Re: Introducing myself
Don't know why he'd leave it off, mine went onto the new frame mounting plate okay.
If you want to fit Givi Panniers at a latter stage you'll need the
footpeg as the lower mount leg bolts to the pivot bolt of the footpeg.
