Plugin TRE
I've been having a lot of trouble with rough running/surging misfiring below 3000rpm. More so at 2000. I had a good think about it and and realised that a slightly over advanced motor will splutter. So I removed the TRE and whalla! smooth as silk. So it's only ok to use a TRE if you plan to dynotune your engine.

Re: Plugin TRE
I use one with out a tune for a couple of years with out any problems.
But when I dropped it off to the tuner, he went over the bike with me to check all the mods.
when we got to the A/TRE he warned me that 30% don't work or stop waring . Mostly the cheap ones.

*HealTech Gear Indicator w/tre "Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator is needed".
*Balanced TB's. My TPS was fine, but you should check yours.
*Arrow race headers with Yoshimura TRS.
*PC3 with the supplied map and these mod got 123hp with 115nm of torque.
*Neville Lush Racing custom tune = 130hp with 125nm at the Tyre (Standard 98hp/108nm).

I'm thinking that's what's probably happened to this one.Reardo wrote:I use one with out a tune for a couple of years with out any problems.

Re: Plugin TRE
Thanks for the heads-up on that. As far as needing a tune for it to work, my one worked well with just a Delkevic can. It smoothed the engine out at constant low rpm; the motor surged or 'hunted' prior to using the TRE.

Re: Plugin TRE
Fitted my Healtech TRE just after Christmas, while not jaw dropping in difference, certainly improved the bike. Smoother acceleration, more snappy it throttle response. Happy with the outcome.
Also fitted the Brake Light Pro, this is one of those items like the Speedo healer, set and forget. I can only hope it wakes up the drivers behind me. Not sure about the legality in Qld, however am happy to take the risk in the interest of being more visable.
