Licola (Victoria)
Here are a few pics of day trip I managed to get in (between showers). Licola is a 'gateway' to the Victorian high country from the Gippsland region. The road to Licola is bitumen but turns to dirt soon thereafter. The 'town' really hasn't got much except a licensed general store which also sells petrol & diesel. The ride up is quite pretty, with the MacAlister river running through the valley on one side and mountains on the other.
2WA and I will be back here when we can find some decent weather!

I will have to do my own reconnaissance ride soon. But yes its a nice ride as long as you don't expect a pub at the end.
I like your suggestion of Dargo on the way down then Licola a day or so later next time you're in the neighborhood mate.
Pic 3 is a calendar contender.

Did I see you getting back into Canberra on Sun? Johnson Dve turnoff at about 2pm with a couple of other bikes (tootling along behind the Highway Patrol)
I wonder?

Not me I'm afraid - I came as far as the Bega Valley and have not been back to Canberra.

No worries, did you come back via the Hwy or Cathcart and Wyndham?
Looks like you had fun either way. Enjoy.

This brings back some memories, I used to live in Sale and did that ride as often as possible, stopped for a pie and a can of coke at the shop, then back down again. Only had one real o-shit moment when I over cooked a corner on an old GS750 at the same time as a 4x4 coming down decided to cut the corner.
