Thoughts on Exhaust Wrap
I have given up polishing my CAT now that it goes purple after every ride.
And becuase my issue with my staintune and its stains not being resolved, im looking at 3 options.
Option 1: Exhaust wrap. I kinda like the look of it. So im thinking about wrapping just before the cat, through to just before the fat part of the can. Thats where the rust stops.
Option 2: Buying a new exhaust..im looking at the Yoshi RS3. Id have titanium over stainless. Only problem i think the shiny headers will look odd with a titanium can.
Option 3: Buy a titanium can, Arrow headers. But thats costs much more money.
Decisions Decisions!!

You can sand the header with 120 grit to make them look titanium .

Re: Thoughts on Exhaust Wrap
I'm about 4/10 on the exhaust wrap but can appreciate it as a 'fix' when the headers are ruined - maybe that's the problem, it looks like it's just hiding a set of ruined headers - but on some of the race bikes it looks good. It also seems quite common on SV1000's. My headers are quite shabby and a PITA to keep polished. I don't particularly like the shape of the Bandit headers and would replace them for the asthetic value alone if I had enough spare readies. It might just come down to how much money you're prepared (or not) to spend.

Have you thought about Ceramic Coating ? Check this out : http://www.hpcoatings.com.au/index.html
I got my headers done. $220 well spent. Still look a million bucks after 3000ks.

Re: Thoughts on Exhaust Wrap
Just wrapping the cat might look a bit odd in my opinion, although may be a slight improvement as opposed to the ugly rust line that tends to appear over time around the cat, but it may not be the best thing to do as the cat heats up to a ridiculous temperature as it is and by wraping it you would eventually burn a hole through it as exhaust wraps desgin is to keep the heat in - i'd try using a high heat liquid chrome spray and see how that goes.

Option 4: full arrow system.
That's what I would do. You can pic up the headers for under $500. They look and sound great.

Arrow Collector for GSF 650/1250 Bandit 07-11 $454.10 there not the shiney polished type stainless steel tho. So it may be a good thing to go with your STAINtune.Cameron wrote:Reardo wrote:+1. Mate you will love it!!!!!!reddog wrote:Option 4: full arrow system.

Nobody gives a shit about shiny stuff when you fly past them
Arrows are the go. If you really want a ti yoshimura then please buy an arrow full system and I will swap you my ti yoshimura.
You won't regret it
