Post  Toyzx Sun 01 Apr 2012, 12:42 pm

Hi all, im new to the forum so go easy on me! i have an 07' 1250, full akrapovic system, pciii, secondaries removed, pairs removed, airbox mod,bmc filter. Now for the life of me i cannot work out why this thing is running lean as hell! No matter how much fuel you put in with the powercommander it wont even show on the ratio curve when dynoed, it just gets leaner and leaner as the revs go up! i have done every test known to man from intake and exhaust leaks to fuel pressure and flow. HELP!!!!!!!

Sounds like the PC3 is screwed or not plug in. Mate if your Dyno man can't work that out, you need a new dyno man! IMO

PS. Did you unplug your 02 sensor?

Could also be the dreaded fuel pump filter being clogged. Check out Gus' post to save you big dollars if this is the case. Both Reardo and I have full systems and the same mods and we both have no dramas with fueling.

I tend to agree with with 2 wa . Power commanders seen to creat more problems than it worth to me . I like mods but has any one jumped on a new
bandit and said "gee this thing runs like a dog".
More like ,"this thing is fantastic " lets see if i can muck it up buy spending $$$$

I & most people I've talked to with PC's, Have not had a problem.

In my case. It's just not about the power. It's how well it's delivered too. Why not make a good thing better?

Do the simple tests and adjustments first (in no particular order)
Take the PC3 off and do a run completely stock (apart from your mods that you can't return to stock of course)
TBS, TPS, fuel pump pressure, fuel pump flow (replace the tea bag and check/clean the little gauze filter while your at it), run 91 or at most 95 as 98 can and does effect things (IMO).
Check ALL your PC3 connections AGAIN, reset the TPS reading on your PC3, put in a zero map and do a base run first, check and replace the plugs, check the tank for contamination such as rust, black gunk and clean it out if need be - don't forget to check all the lines and hoses while you are there, check the o2 sensor bypass (or fit one if you haven't already)

In the end if your tuner can't work it out, then my first thought is get another tuner as he/she doesn't seam to know their shit. Bandits are not a hard bike to tune/make run hard and PC3/5 are well supported and used around the world

Thanks for all the feedback guys! As for getting a new tuner, he is the only one in hundreds of ks from me and all he is doing for me is running it up for me to check the af plus we good mates and it doesnt cost me anything. Just ran it without the pc and seems to run better, its actually blowing a little black smoke now! which means its definatly getting fuel now! Will have to take it for a ride in the morning. Have left all the other mods in place, does anyone know how the O2 elimator affects the af with the pc out? Rich or lean? Thanks again!

unless you are cruising for mile after mile, it doesn't. the bike will use the base maps with no adjustment up or down
