Hi there, has anyone fitted a Power Commander or similar to a 1250......they reckon 20 to 30 horsepower increase, smoother throttle response and more torque.....any luck with such "magic boxes" ???? Twisted Evil

POWER COMMANDER FOR 1250 Empty Re: POWER COMMANDER FOR 1250

I had a PCV installed recently, with custom mapping. Huge difference in the power delivery, but I had specified that I wasn't interested in pushing the horsepower - it was more important for me to keep some kind of economy since the bike is primarily a commuter. As it was it picked up an extra horse, giving it 110.25 @ 9000rpm, & 83.15 ft-lbs @ 6000rpm.

The power delivery is far smoother & throttle response has tightened up nicely. How much of this is the custom mapping I'm not sure.

Ian
I can supply a Power Commander to you cheaper. Unable to assist with mapping, unless you wanna add the "Auto-tune" option.

there are maps on the PC website for slip on Yoshi's, but not sure what sort of results you'll get as didn't use it.

POWER COMMANDER FOR 1250 Empty TFI

Post  Saikhan Wed 03 Feb 2010, 9:38 am

I've decided on a TFI box, oxy bypass, pair plug, k&N filter and Yoshi can. Nobody I know that uses this setup has a bad word to say about it. I got everything but the pipe from holeshot.

Not installed yet and have only had the bike for 2 mins, but from all reports it makes a big difference.

I have a gipro atre as well but that is mainly for the gear indicator. It was on my m90 and it did make a noticeable difference on it. But not sure if it will be as noticeable on the Bandit.

I will do a bit of a review when it stops raining. Mad

POWER COMMANDER FOR 1250 Empty PCV and AUTO TUNE

Post  Rick Tue 30 Oct 2012, 1:20 pm

G'day all. I thought I would put this post here as it seemed relevant without starting another thread. I installed the PCV with the only mods being a full Arrow system and a K&N filter. Dyno tuned the bike made 109hp and 88ft lbs. Since then I have installed the Auto tune, using the dyno run map as a base tune as recommended by Dynojet, removed the secondary butterfly valves and removed the snorkel in the air box. I thought I would hook up the lappy after I gave her the 24000k service to discover the O2 sensor has failed. This gives the PCV a reading of 9.99:1 A/F ratio, a bit rich Very Happy, Because I had the enrichment/lean percentages set to 10% it only wanted to reduce the fuel by that amount so its not possible to get a lean out. On that note the part number needed, after a bit of research because the numbers are burned off, is 0 258 007 206 for the 5 wire wideband O2 sensor. I do recommend the set up, however it would be nice if the sensor lasted more than 20000k's. Also after research the sensor is prone to failure due to moisture, so a 2 minute start up and run time may induce moisture into the exhaust system. Good luck and I hope some of this info can help someone.
