Steve here [52] - bought the bandit last month after not riding for a long long time - last one i had was a gsx 1100 and i think i sold it in about 1990. had honda cb750's a honda cb350/4, a honda 125 trials bike and a few others.

actually i rode an aprilia 1000 something or other a mate has got in queensland for about 1/2 hour a year ago and i couldnt walk properly for a month after that but that's all until i got the bandit.

its a top bike although i am sort of a learner again - looking forward to some rides with fellow afficionados. i have booked into an advanced stay upright course on friday week and i will be interested to see what its like

forum is a great idea!

Welcome Steve. I came back to riding about 3 years ago after a longish break, but didn't really trust myself to go to a big bike straight away, not having had one before the break (unlike you), so I got a 250 Spada first, then a GSXF400, and only then moved on to the Bandit. I was glad of it, for myself, just to get a better sense of my skills before going to something really quick. If you have the experience on the bigger faster ones you'll probably be fine, but remember you might have slowed down a step yourself in the mean time. Wink
