Ay up from Pomland
Hi,
Just found your site and was impressed, so I thought I'd dip a toe in your warm Aussie water.
I live in the peak district in England, and rid a Gsx 1250 fa,bought new last June, pretty pleased with it apart from the fuelling surge, which was absent on the demo model.
Done around 4500miles so far,the weather has been fine for the past month, which makes a pleasant change :

Dhula has been down this road. I think disconnecting the gear shift indicator helped a lot from memory

Hey Skinner,
I did everything on the page below except I have the stock can still on at the moment. I'm not sure if the oxygen sensor bypass does anything on its own, but once you put on a TFi box or Power Commander, it will have an effect. The main problem with the stock Bandit as I see it, is that Suzuki made a general purpose bike that could be registered in as many countires as possible with only minor regulatory modifications needed. This is as it turns out is not a bad thing. It means the bike responds well to changes. The 1st thing to do is get rid of the snorkel on the airbox cover. This alone will give the engine a bit more air. Next is get your hands on a TFi box, it requires less setting up than the Power Commander. It's pretty easy to install. Put in a K&N filter or any other oilable filter as the airflow will be greatly improved. The stage 1 mod below requires drilling a 38mm hole in the airbox lid as well.
There is also a stage 2 mod whereby you remove the secondary butterflies from the throttle body. I haven't done this yet but I will as soon as I get a new can. Just read the forum, ask questions, sign up to maximum-suzuki.com and check out the holeshot web-site.

The Stage 1 mods I made gave the bike some extra power, but more importantly it pulls better from all revs and doesn't surge at all. The motor spools up quicker and it also sounds better, with a nice deep induction growl.
I gotta go mate the baby needs feeding.
Cheers

Re: Ay up from Pomland
Welcome fello pom. Not had the fuel problem you mention myself and I also purchased the MB fa last June. I have however just fitted a new scorpion can minus baffle. I have noticed that I am now missing pull at lo revs so the idea of a TFi box and stage 1 with K&N sounds like it might solve the problem.

To fix the surging you just have to lose the Ashes in two years time, its that simple!
