Radiator guard for Bandit

Post  Ironman on Tue 26 Apr 2011, 11:18 am

I've been wanting to get a DECENT radiator guard for my bike for ages but don't agree with the zip tie method specials and just cant see the justification for $200 for the other type offered. I found this one on fleabay... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110677532041&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
Opinions?

I like the look of that. I have a Rad Guard on mine and it's very well made. A mate bought some obscure brand from Ebay which seems a bit flimsy to me, although it looked good in the photo. Make sure to let us know what this one is like if you get it.

I know 3 months down the track, but did did you end up getting the Rad guard Full Throttle, or an other brand. Just got my new Bandit & as there has been a bit "crap" weather lattly I can see a clear spray line on the Rad' & if a stone came up as well......$$$$$.

Just reakon the "really" important add ons should go on 1st!!! ie ones that might save me $$$$!!!

Cheers!

I got a Speed Works one from Ebay. (Rated R Parts) It does the job habd at least once has saved me $1000.
I think it was the first thing I put on the bike.
Just remove the rad side panels and put this in place then reattach the side panels.
You'll see it in all my pix.

2Wheels, are you sure it wasn't a Warspeed guard from RatedR?

Mine has held up very well on the harsh WA country roads. Kudos to my mate Warpy who hand makes all of his radiator guards Very Happy

Very 'Blingy' ormguard farao

Looks great .. was it easy to attach and does it give full clearance to the front mudguard under compression?
What else does the site offer?

I think it was from these guys
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stainless-steel-radiator-cover-Bandit-GSF-1250-Logo-/320740274785?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4aad9c3261#ht_1506wt_930

Shop
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RoMatech-Motorradzubehor

They do chain guards and a few other bits. You can get darker colours but as the engine block is all black on my Bandit I did go with a bit of "bling" : ). It has good clearance and is easy to clean. Took me 5 mins to put on and was a perfect fit, I am very happy with it.
